Hi Friends!
I hope all is well!
Happy Tuesday,
Today, I want to take a moment to remember and celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. This is an important day in 1865 when the last African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned about their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s crucial to reflect on the impact of this historical event on different communities.
Juneteenth is celebrated with festivals, parades and most importantly family gatherings. Food plays a significant role and symbolizes love, hardship, and joy. For some, Juneteenth stands for a new beginning, giving hope that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
