Welcome to our first issue of Nourish Newsletter,
Nourish is a plant-forward health and wellness newsletter and online community. I share evidence-based tips, tools, and strategies on a variety of health and wellness topics. I also share seasonal plant-based recipes, and essays that explore the many health benefits of cooking, baking, mental health, intentional living, finding joy, and community in the kitchen. I help ease the stress of dealing with that age old question. What shall I eat? Each newsletter provides actionable steps that will give you tips, tools, and insight to help you become the best version of yourself.
My name is Sam, I am an nutrition educator, recipe developer, wellness coach, writer and home cook. I specialize in plant-forward seasonal recipes. I believe nutritious food has a powerful impact on the body, and when we eat better, we feel better.
I learned to cook at an early age by watching and learning from my grandmother, aunts, and uncles. When I became ill twelve years ago, I had to re-learn how to cook and recreate the classic dishes I once loved. I had to re-discover how to enjoy food again without it making me sick. I understand the crucial role that diet plays in our physical and emotional well-being. I decided to go back to school, I completed my studies in Culinary Nutrition. I became a private chef for several years, specializing in simplifying complex nutrition recommendations into recipes for busy professionals, modern home cooks and people with diet-related health conditions.
I started this newsletter to help educate and teach and inspire others about the incredible impact that nutrition can have on our daily lives.
Whether you are plant-based, vegan, vegetarian, keto, pescatarian, or flexitarian, we can all agree on one thing - we should incorporate more plant-based foods into our diet. Cooking from scratch using whole, fresh, unprocessed ingredients is one of the most nourishing gifts we can give ourselves and our families.
Nourish is for... anyone interested in incorporating more plant foods into their current lifestyle.
My cooking is centered around using fresh seasonal, unprocessed whole plant ingredients. Most of my recipes have ten ingredients or less. All recipes are foolproof and are naturally wheat-free, soy-free sesame-free and refined sugar free, except for special recipes added for special occasions or holidays.
My recipes are easy and approachable without compromising the flavor or integrity of the ingredients. Substitutions and variations for restrictions are added to all recipes. The aim is to supply easy-to-follow recipes that are not only delicious but also nourishing.
I hope these recipes will inspire you to start creating your own family favorites.
All recipes are accessible, affordable, and nutritious for any modern home cook.
